In 2011, a British girl group, Little Mix, became well-known after winning the eighth season of The X Factor UK. Initially, the group included four members, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards, and Jesy Nelson. Jesy, however, left the group in 2020. Little Mix is considered the best-selling girl group, having sold over 60 million records. Having re-defined the traditional girl-group system, they have had a significant impact on the girl band renaissance in the UK. "Strip" was created in collaboration with Sharaya Howell, professionally known as Sharaya J, an American rapper and choreographer.
The track has upbeat and positive music; it pumps you up enough to start tapping your feet and bobbing your head to the beats. The vocals of each member complement each other very well. With "Finally love me naked, sexiest when I'm confident", the message in the song is clear - love yourself the way you are. The group also takes an opportunity to talk about different ethnicities while Leigh-Anne Pinnock celebrates her Black lineage proudly. Jade has a light lyric soprano voice, Jesy is a lyrical alto, Perrie has the highest pitch termed a fach soprano, and Leigh-Anne sings in a mezzo-soprano tone. When the group sings together, their individual vocals hash well with each other and create a dynamic cacophony. Sharaya J's rap harmonizes beautifully with the music.
